Fotógrafo registra o isolamento de idosos durante quarentena no Brasil

O avanço do Novo Coronavírus, o COVID-19, no Brasil, tem colocado toda a população em estado de alerta. Inúmeras medidas para conter a proliferação do vírus e estancar o que já é considerada uma pandemia, estão surgindo a cada dia. O fechamento do comércio e parte das agências bancárias são algumas das determinações impostas recentemente pelos governos estaduais. Mas dentre todas, a que mais se têm ouvido é a da permanência da pessoas acima de 60 anos em suas respectivas casas.
No entanto, a pergunta ainda sem uma resposta definida é: os idosos teriam outra opção, ou esta recomendação se tornou a única escolha para esta parcela da sociedade? Para mostrar este cenário claustrofóbico, o fotógrafo Hamilton Zambiancki passou a se dedicar a obsevar e registrar estes idosos "presos" em seus apartamentos.

The advancement of the New Coronavirus, COVID-19, in Brazil, has put the entire population on alert. Countless measures to stem the spread of the virus and halt what is already considered a pandemic, are emerging every day. The closing of trade and part of bank branches are some of the determinations recently imposed by state governments. But of all, the one that has been heard the most is that people over 60 stay in their respective homes.
However, the question still without a definite answer is: would the elderly have another option, or did this recommendation become the only choice for this part of society? To show this claustrophobic scenario, photographer Hamilton Zambiancki started to dedicate himself to observing and registering these elderly people "trapped" in their apartments.
Forçados psicológicamente a ficarem em casa, aqueles com idade avançada têm transparecido viver, nos últimos dias, uma vida que ultrapassa, de fato, o isolamento e beira a desolação."Na região próxima ao Centro Histórico de Curitiba, onde há uma concentração enorme de moradores idosos, pude perceber neles um olhar vazio, a tristeza e a saudade de uma vida social ativa", comenta Zambiancki.
Isolados, desolados e sem alternativas, as janelas têm se tornado, literalmente, a única forma de conexão dos idosos com o cotidiano, o convívio interpessoal, além do que muitos deles buscam quando chegam na terceira idade: a sociabilidade.
Psychologically forced to stay at home, those with advanced age have shown themselves, in the last few days, to live a life that in fact surpasses isolation and borders on desolation. "In the region close to the Historic Center of Curitiba, where there is a huge concentration of elderly residents, I could see an empty look in them, the sadness and the longing for an active social life ", comments Zambiancki.
Isolated, desolate and without alternatives, windows have literally become the only way of connecting the elderly with everyday life, interpersonal interaction, in addition to what many of them seek when they reach old age: sociability.
